One of the four people in the vehicle had a firearm and was subsequently arrested.
“He is known to police,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told 1130 NewsRadio.
“However, he has no previous criminal convictions.”
Houghton says there is no evidence at this time that the man has any connections to extortion.
The 24-year-old man is facing seven criminal charges, including possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and careless storage of a firearm.
The man remains in custody, and his bail hearing is scheduled for May 12.
