An application was received by Elections BC that stated that Brodie was unfit to represent the riding.

“Dallas Brodie is unfit for public office. In October 2024, we elected an MLA to represent our interests in Victoria. Instead, just months after taking office, Dallas Brodie was expelled from the B.C. Conservative caucus for mocking Indian residential school abuse survivors,” read the application.
The campaign to remove Brodie will have until July 20 to collect the necessary 15,232 signatures to remove her and trigger a byelection.
“Vancouver-Quilchena deserves an MLA focused on local priorities like affordability, safety, schools, healthcare, and community services. Instead, Brodie devotes her time and attention to her own political projects.”
Elections BC has stated that none of the 30 previous recall petitions since 1995 have succeeded.
“Constituents see little engagement or advocacy for the issues facing families, seniors, renters, and businesses. Furthermore, she is wasting public funds; constituents are raising concerns about taxpayer-funded materials and promotions that do not benefit our community. Our tax dollars should fund local services, not a province-wide tour for a personal political agenda. Vancouver-Quilchena wants an MLA who fights for their needs.”
The proponent of the recall application is Dorothy Cumming, who lists a Langley address on the application, which is outside of Brodie’s riding.
Brodie was elected as a B.C. Conservative in October 2024, but was kicked out of the caucus five months later, after then-leader John Rustad said she had mocked residential school survivors.
She formed OneBC with another former Conservative MLA Tara Armstrong, but they later split when Brodie sought to fire a staffer she accused of antisemitism.
Brodie currently sits in the legislature as an Independent, since two legislators are required to confer party status.
