The RCMP says it is investigating after what it is saying was a targeted shooting in Langley.

Officers were called to Brydon Crescent near 54th Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found the victim and evidence of a shooting.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for further assessment.

“The investigation is still in its early stages, and police are working to determine the possible motive for the shooting,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.

“At this time, the incident appears to be targeted, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.”

The BC Emergency Health Services says that it responded to the incident with one ambulance.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment and transported one patient to the hospital in serious condition,” the service said in a written statement to 1130 NewsRadio.
