The road closure is in effect between Gillley Avenue and Sperling Avenue.
The Burnaby Fire Department is currently on scene with 32 firefighters, working on extinguishing the fire.
“The fire is within the structural components of the building. It is a stubborn, deep-seated fire,” said Deputy Fire Chief Ian Hetherington.

Cpl. Mike Kalanj says that police can not provide a timeline for when the road will reopen, as officers remain on scene with the investigation ongoing.
“The cause of the fire is currently unknown,” he added.
Police say that no injuries have been reported.
