Vancouver Fire Rescue Service says 30 firefighters worked to knock down a blaze at a downtown convenience store early Monday morning.

Crews were called to a 7-Eleven store, located on Granville near Davie Street, shortly before 4 a.m.

“The fire originated at the rear of the building and extended into the structure,” said Carolyn Rohaly, senior communications officer for the City of Vancouver.

“Firefighters quickly contained the fire; however, it took some time to fully extinguish, as the fire made its way into the structure of the building.”

Rohaly says no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
