The Richmond RCMP says it is turning to the public for help identifying a suspect in an assault earlier this summer.

Police say a woman was walking on Greenland Drive near No. 5 Road around 7:30 p.m. on June 28 when an unknown man, who was riding a bicycle, approached her. The woman was assaulted, and the suspect fled.

The suspect is approximately 30 to 40 years old with a medium build, black hair, and a black moustache. He was wearing sunglasses, a green T-shirt, and grey shorts.

Anyone who was in the area between 7:15 and 7:45 p.m. and may have seen a cyclist matching the suspect’s description is asked to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and refer to file 2026-20373. Police say they are also looking for dashcam or residential security camera footage from the area.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area, or who may have relevant video footage, to come forward and speak with investigators,” said Cpl. Melissa Lui.

“Even seemingly minor information could help advance this investigation.”
