Two people have been charged after an early‑morning break‑in at a Vancouver apartment building, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

Police say a witness monitoring security footage at a building near Quebec Street and East 1st Avenue spotted two people who appeared to be breaking into a storage locker in the parkade shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Officers responded quickly and arrested two suspects at the scene.

According to the VPD, 42-year-old Jesse Sokol and 32-year-old Nikita Silverquill were found with items police believe were stolen from the storage locker, along with knives and break-in tools.

Each faces one charge of break-and-enter and one charge of possession of break-in instruments.
