A car with a single occupant crashed into a building Saturday morning in Burnaby.

Burnaby RCMP say they attended the scene around 11:45 a.m. on Nelson Avenue, between Kingsway and Bennett Street, where Burnaby Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services had already arrived.

According to police, the driver of the car, a 31-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.

The building has been boarded up and RCMP say it has some structural damage.

What caused the woman to drive into the building is unknown at the time and is under investigation.
