Bruno Mars’ voice to feature on SkyTrain announcements

Bruno Mars is set to become the first musical artist to voice a SkyTrain station announcement.

Mars’ voice will play periodically at Stadium-Chinatown Station on five dates coinciding with his five Vancouver concerts at B.C. Place: Oct. 14, 16, 17, 20, and 21.

TransLink says the collaboration with Warner Music Canada generates advertising revenue to support transit service in the region.

While he is the first musician to feature in a SkyTrain station announcement, he is not the first celebrity to do so. Vancouver local and actor Seth Rogen featured in 2018 and Canadian soccer legend Christine Sinclair lent her voice during FIFA World Cup 2026.

“Most people don’t expect to hear Bruno Mars while they’re heading to work, school, or a concert. That’s what makes this so much fun, because it brings the concert experience to SkyTrain customers,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn.

“It’s a unique way to brighten someone’s trip while generating additional revenue that helps support transit service across the region.”

TransLink teased the collaboration before the announcement, with emojis representing six of his most popular songs.

Fans easily guessed the announcement, interpreting the emojis to spell out the popular Bruno Mars hits Locked Out of Heaven, Treasure, Marry You, Leave the Door Open, Talking to the Moon, and Die with a Smile.
