RCMP say that shortly before 6 a.m. officers were called out to the 26000-block of Lougheed Highway for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Investigators say the man was hit by a car while trying to corral his dogs. Paramedics tried to save his life but he died.

The roads between 272nd Street and 240th Street are closed while RCMP investigate.
