Firefighters warned the public to stay out of the area.

“Please do not stop to watch, gather near the scene, or attempt to access surrounding roads or trails,” the SFR said in a written statement.

“Keeping the area clear is critical to allow firefighters and emergency crews to safely and effectively respond.”

No information has been shared on how large the fire is or whether it was human-caused.

Crews add that the incident serves as an important reminder of how dry conditions remain despite cooler temperatures and intermittent rain, and can ignite a fire quickly.
