Two suspects entered around 3:30 a.m. on Friday and took the ATM from the pub.

They were seen leaving in a truck, which police later found out was stolen.

Both the stolen truck and ATM have been found but the money had been taken from the machine.

“An RCMP police dog handler located two males matching the suspects on Westsyde Road and tracked them to the north Thompson River, where both entered,” states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP. “One male was arrested shortly after however a second suspect swam across the river and remains outstanding.”

The swimming suspect is described as balding, with a beard and full sleeve tattoos on his right arm and shoulder. He was last seen in a pair of blue jeans.

“Police officers flooded the ground and the river, with assistance Kamloops Fire and Rescue however the suspect was not located, despite significant searching.”

Police believe the suspect may have come out of the water in the north Thompson River area, cold and wet.

RCMP ask that anyone who has potentially seen the swimming suspect contact police.
