Dog killed in hit-and-run in Vancouver

A dog is dead following a hit-and-run collision in Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).

Police say the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Powell Street and Princess Avenue. A black SUV struck a dog that was being walked by three children.

The driver of the SUV allegedly left the scene without stopping. The dog later died from its injuries.

VPD says the investigation remains ongoing and officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the black SUV to come forward.
