The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is investigating what officers describe as a “disturbing incident” at a fast-food restaurant in downtown Vancouver.
Police say they received a report on Aug. 28 that two men entered the restaurant near Nelson and Howe streets, where they allegedly yelled at staff and damaged property before leaving the area.
According to VPD, the men also claimed to be armed and associated with a gang.
A video of the incident has since been circulating on social media, drawing significant public attention.
“We understand there is significant public interest in this incident. It is disturbing and unacceptable, not just to police, but to the staff and patrons of the restaurant,” said Insp. Erin Roulston in a statement.
Roulston said investigators are reviewing all available evidence, including CCTV footage, to determine exactly what occurred and whether criminal charges are warranted.
