The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it is investigating after a multi-vehicle collision on the Granville Street Bridge resulted in six people being taken to hospital Sunday.

A tow truck, a bus, and two other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 5 p.m., the VPD says.

One of the six people injured sustained serious, life-altering injuries, police say. The other five suffered minor injuries.

The bridge was closed in both directions for several hours while crews investigated, reopening at around 10:30 p.m., police say.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
