Emergency crews were sent to False Creek late Tuesday to put out a fire that had broken out on a boat, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
Police say they were called to assist with the blaze around 11:30 p.m.
“Vancouver Fire and Coast Guard also attended to assist in extinguishing the flames,” said VPD Const. Darren Wong.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an onboard generator malfunction, and both occupants were uninjured.”
The exact location of the boat at the time of the fire is unclear.
Wong says the fire doesn’t appear to be the result of arson, but an investigation is underway.
