Ontario man charged after year-long B.C. human trafficking investigation
An Ontario man is facing several charges of human-trafficking in Metro Vancouver following a year-long investigation.
B.C. RCMP announced Thursday that 29-year-old Jahail Green has been charged with trafficking in persons, procuring a person to provide sexual services, receiving a material benefit from trafficking, receiving a material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, and assault.
Police allege the offences occurred in the Lower Mainland between January 2025 and January 2026.
The investigation by B.C.’s anti-human trafficking unit began in May 2025 and involved efforts to identify suspects, gather evidence and support victims, said Mounties.
The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the charges May 11.

That same month, members of the B.C. counter human trafficking unit, along with Mounties in B.C. and Ontario, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C., the Toronto Police Service, and the Durham Regional Police Service, searched a residence in Vaughan, Ont., and arrested Green.
He has since been released on conditions.
Insp. Lyndsay O’Ruairc of the anti-human trafficking unit said the case is a reminder that “offenders cannot hide in another province and expect to avoid detection.”
Anyone with information about this case, or a potential human trafficking situation, is asked to contact their local police.
