On Friday night, the Lions Bay Search and Rescue (LBSAR) were called out to help a hiker who had injured his ankle on Mount Brunswick.
The man was descending from the summit when he stepped on a loose rock and twisted his ankle, says the LBSAR.
He was unable to continue hiking.
LBSAR, with North Shore Rescue and Talon Helicopters in order to do a “hoist extraction,” from approximately 1,550 metres elevation, says LBSAR.
Rescuers were able to safely take the injured hiker off Mount Brunswick.
He was flown to Lions Bay School field, where he was treated for his injured ankle before being driven home by his friend, the other hiker, report LBSAR.
