PREVIOUSLY: Vancouver police are searching for a convicted sex offender who did not return to his halfway house on Wednesday.
Kenneth Nolan Kirton, 59, is a designated dangerous offender who had been living at a halfway house in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside under a 10-year supervision order after being released.
Police say Kirton signed out of his halfway house on Wednesday and has not returned. A countrywide warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Kirton is 5-foot-4 and weighs about 135 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes, and may be wearing a tan button-up shirt with light blue shorts and white runners.
He has several tattoos, including a skull on his right forearm, and a scar on his left cheek.
It’s not the first time Kirton has left his halfway house and failed to return.
In 2023, Vancouver police also issued a warning, asking the public to help locate Kirton when he did not report back to his halfway house. In that incident, Kirton was later arrested after members of the public reported a man acting erratically near Vancouver’s China Creek Park.
He was also the subject of a warrant in 2012 in a case involving attempted murder and robbery, after a 73-year-old woman was stabbed several times in her home.
Anyone with information about Kirton’s whereabouts or who recognizes him is asked to contact 911 immediately.
