The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) are seeking witnesses to an attempted break-and-enter on Ginger Drive near McBride Blvd.

Around 1 p.m. on Sept. 28, NWPD officers were called to a home where a man had reportedly attempted to enter.

According to police, the resident of the home, a woman, heard knocking at the front door and a window. The resident was not expecting anyone so she did not answer the door.

Soon after, police say the woman heard what she thought was a window screen being cut in one of the bedrooms. When she went to investigate, an unknown man was climbing through the window. She screamed and the man ran away.

The man has been described as wearing a black toque, a blue medical mask and a brown jacket.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have been in the area at the time and ask that they contact the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
