Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo will be opening a new flagship store in downtown Vancouver in Spring 2027, the company announced Monday.
The store will be located in CF Pacific Centre. This will be the company’s first location in Vancouver, but not the first in the Lower Mainland. In 2017, Uniqlo opened a location in Burnaby’s Metrotown Shopping Centre, and has since opened storefronts in Coquitlam, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, and Tsawwassen.
“Vancouver is a global city with a distinct way of living: active, practical, and design-driven,” said Yuya Tanahashi, chief operating officer of Uniqlo Canada.
“This closely resonates with our LifeWear philosophy, which ensures our clothing improves everyday life for everyone.”
Also set to open downtown next year are two other large flagship retail locations: Aritzia, which will take up 40,000 square feet over four stories, and Simons, expected to fill 92,000 square feet over three stories. These stores will occupy just part of the 230,000 square feet left vacant when Nordstrom pulled out in 2023.
Uniqlo has around 2,500 locations worldwide, the company says.
