Oliveira-Scott was charged with trafficking and firearms offences last October stemming from a four-year investigation into a drug trafficking network allegedly using “crypto currency, the dark web and Canada Post to facilitate the sale and distribution of illegal drugs and counterfeit pills containing fentanyl,” the RCMP news release said.
Oliveira-Scott was arrested in February 2024 after a search warrant was executed at a Lower Mainland residence where he was found. Police found stolen firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, fraudulent identification documents and Canadian currency.
He was released as the investigation continued.
Police believe he left Canada in May 2025, before charges were laid. Since October, there had been a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest and an Interpol Red Notice had been issued.
“Suspects may evade police to avoid prosecution, but this file represents the tenacity of federal investigators working with international law enforcement partners to ensure those who are charged in Canada will eventually be caught,” RCMP Cpl. James Bennett said.
“This investigation was remarkably complex in that the suspects went to great lengths to shield identities by hiding behind the dark web. It was a sophisticated enterprise that shipped all manner of illicit drugs across the country.”

Also charged in the case is Victoria resident Treshaun Thompson. The 28-year-old was reported missing to Victoria police on Sept. 22, 2025. He was last seen in the Rockland neighbourhood at about 9 p.m. on Sept. 9.
Thompson was awaiting trial on drug trafficking charges when he vanished. Several of those charges were stayed in January. Victoria police continue to investigate his disappearance.
